Henleaze Physio Clinic in Bristol was founded with the aim of creating a welcoming, patient-centred physiotherapy practice. We’re proud to support the local community by providing professional physiotherapy treatment, pre-event massage, and bespoke recovery services. Alongside the clinic, the business is also connected to Bristol Pilates Co, extending our shared commitment to movement, recovery, and long-term wellbeing.

Our founder, Sue Hughes, trained at the University of Central Lancashire and has worked in Bristol for over 30 years. Sue’s daughter Becky, and friend and former colleague Elise, joined the business, to ensure the family feel continues into the future.

Our experienced team of physiotherapists can support you with a wide range of services, whether you’re looking for help with marathon training and Hyrox preparation, injury prevention or rehabilitation, recovery or maintaining long-term health and fitness – we’ll help you every step of the way.

Elise Denner - Sport Rehabilitator

Co-Owner of HPC. Elise has a fountain of knowledge when it comes to musculoskeletal injuries and treats sporting AND non-sporting injuries. Elise's typical clientele ranges from muscular strains, irritating tendons to long term injuries such as ACL injuries and post-operative rehabilitation. Elise has worked with elite athletes such as Football and GB Artistic Swimmers, helping elite athletes recover from their injuries and return back the sport they love! Elise has a special interest in women pelvic health having a diploma in menopause as well as currently undertaking Level 4 Pilates Master Practitioner course with Reformer.

Chloe Campbel - Chartered Physiotherapist. HCPC registered.

Chloe joins HPC alongside her role as a Senior NHS Physiotherapist, specializing in Neurological, Vestibular, and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Registered with the CSP and HCPC, she offers home visits within the BS9 area, including care home visits for patients with conditions like Stroke, MS, or Parkinson’s. Chloe also supports post-surgery recovery and hospital discharge to help patients regain independence. She provides diagnosis and treatment for Vestibular issues, addressing dizziness, visual, and balance disturbances. A keen CrossFit athlete, Chloe brings expertise in managing sports injuries and exercise recovery. She accepts referrals from 'The Physiotherapy Network' insurance (other providers not accepted; please book with Becky).

Sue Hughes

Sue, the founder of Henleaze Physio Clinic, is now transitioning toward retirement and currently offers appointments for half a day each week, her list is now closed to new clients. With her wealth of experience and passion for patient care, Sue continues to provide expert treatment and guidance to those she sees.

Michal

Michal is a Level 5 Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist and personal trainer with over six years of experience, specialising in helping clients overcome musculoskeletal pain, recover from injuries, and enhance their athletic performance. Whether you’re a weekend warrior, a desk worker with chronic tension, or an endurance athlete, Michal tailors his treatments to each client’s unique needs. Utilising advanced techniques such as deep tissue massage, myofascial release, and corrective exercises, Michal addresses the root causes of pain and dysfunction. His background as a former Ironman and Half Ironman triathlete, combined with his passion for cycling and running, provides him with firsthand insight into the demands of endurance sports and the injuries they can bring.

Matt Milne - Acupuncture

Matt is one of the most recent members of the HPC team. He is a qualified Physiotherapist with experience in many areas of physiotherapy and acupuncture. Matt is dedicated to helping people move better and living pain-free. His treatment style is holistic, using a combination of manual therapy, exercise therapy and acupuncture, to help patients make positive long-term improvements.

Matt also provides home visit treatment if required, to the same high standard as in the clinic. Matt's patient-centred approach and relaxed, professional manner is a great addition to the HPC team.

Pip Dickin - Sports Therapist

Experienced Sports Therapist. (Pip will be looking after many of Becky’s patients during her maternity leave). Pip has a degree in Sports Therapy granting her membership to the Society of Sports Therapists (SST), Pip has built up great experience working with a variety of national level sports teams, developing an interest in shoulder and tendon injuries whilst working in Basketball and knee and ligament injuries whilst working in Rugby. Pip also works with student athletes supporting their rehabilitation and helping them get back to top performance. This includes children and teens suffering with growing pains for example. Alongside her passion for sports injuries, Pip also treats all general musculoskeletal conditions, so she’s here to help whether you’re an athlete or simply dealing with everyday aches and pains from work and lifestyle.
