Children's Physiotherapy

Adults aren’t the only ones who can benefit from physiotherapy. Our children’s physio is for active kids aged 5 and over with muscle, bone and joint problems. Think sports injuries, growing pains like Osgood-Schlatter or Sever’s, and getting back to sport after a broken bone.

Children aged 5+. Here for muscle, bone and joint problems. For babies or neurological conditions, a specialist children’s neuro physio is the best fit.

What is Paediatric Physiotherapy?

Is this the right service for my child?

We can help with sports injuries, growing pains, posture aches, and recovery after a broken bone or sprain.

For babies, children under 5, or children with neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy, developmental delay or brain injury, a specialist children’s neuro physio is the best fit. Your GP or health visitor can point you to the right team.

We help children aged 5 and over recover from injuries and aches so they can get back to PE, clubs and sport. Some of the most common things we treat include:

What parents need to know

If you plan on booking a session for your child, keep the following in mind:

  • You should accompany your child if they are under 18.
  • Your child should wear comfortable clothes like PE gear.
  • You don’t need to see a doctor first. If your child is in pain, we can help without a referral. If needed, we can always refer you to a specialist.

Common physical effects that we can treat with physiotherapy include:

Growth-related concerns

These can cause discomfort and movement issues, especially in the knees and heels - this includes Osgood-Schlatter and Sever's disease. Working with a therapist can alleviate these symptoms.

Sports-related injuries

Active children may obtain multiple sports injuries throughout the years, and having an expert facilitate rehabilitation reduces the risk of long-term damage or re-injury.

Posture problems

Children who spend prolonged hours bent over desks or laptops may face posture problems that can cause pain and stiffness.

Broken bones and sprains

After a fracture or sprain, kids can lose strength and confidence. We help them rebuild both and get back to sport safely.

My son obtained an injury to his hip, whilst competing in motocross. Elise patiently assessed his injury, taking care of the pain he was in. She treated him with ultrasound to help the bruising and then sent a link to his exercises, which seen him back riding swiftly. Elise is very kind, caring and friendly and we would highly recommend her for sporting injuries for young people especially. Top class service.
